I think you are wrong. Had she retired there would have been a special election. She is still “serving” until the new congress.

Maybe it’s just semantics because I was thinking “resigned”.
Bottom line is that TX district has a person who is apparently too demented to live on her own representing them TODAY.

Thanks- just saw she retired. Kind of makes the whole this a bit less outrageous. She’s just riding out last few months before retiring. Yes, she should have retired sooner but much less of a big deal than if her handlers engineered a re-election in absentia.
