Is everything in music today AI maxed? Vocals sound so unnatural it’s not even cool anymore. Anyone can sing now. I just want to hear real voices without all the autotune.

I watched some young music producer guy listening to Dark Side of the Moon and he kept pointing out that the drums are sometimes not perfectly on the beat to the micro second 🙄
I think that's why a track like 'Easy on me' by Adele drove younger audiences wild in '21. It's a real voice and a real piano—no click, no quantising. It has a dynamic that you rarely hear on pop radio any more. Myself, I thought it was just an okay song, but its authenticity was its trick.
TBF, this phenomenon goes back long, long before AI was a thing. Even when a singer can sing perfectly fine, AT is often applied just as a "stylistic choice".
(I hate it too.)
I hear you (not autotuned). I'm old ish. Grew up with natural singers with amazing voices. Was a thrill to hear someone belting out a song.
Barely anyone on the charts today could do that and, you're absolutely right, it creates an androgyny of music that all sounds hideously the same.
Respect 👍
Studio vocals are very different from live vocals and just about everyone uses a long chain of effects. Pitch correction probably is the smallest one. You've also got reverb, delay, compression, sibilance correction, analog distortion, artificial chorus via Vocaloid,...

We're at the stage where all they gotta do is cherry pick some folks with handsome faces, train them, and then have them perform
