Just bought a new pressing of this last week. Along with Making Movies.
Then on Thursday my anniversary edition of Brother in Arms arrive.
All new clean LP’s to replace the ones I wore out.
It was 1978 and I was working with an oil exploration crew in the Gulf of MX. We docked in Morgan City LA and two songs from the album were already on the jukebox in a small Cajun bar. There were maybe 12 more rock songs amongst the Elvis, Crystal Gayle, Wallon & zydeco creole tunes.
I can recall it was raining and we were waiting on equipment from Houston. Spent much of that day playing pool, drinking a few beers and playing the jukebox until our crew had to get back to work. Good times.
I used to play with him at school (!). He played an upturned metal bin, and I improvised on the flute. 1976. Crikey. 1980, he was touring with John Martyn.
