1 month check-in since I started working in a Tailwind codebase.
Opinions have shifted slightly
- not quite as bad at creating bad incentives.
- decent for quick prototyping
- bad for maintenance and readability
- good only for basic styles, need css fail escapes constantly
- mediocre composition

Compared to what I’ve always been told, I actually like Tailwind *less* the more I use it. I think I was too complementary to it.
It’s not bad. I’m not in the “Tailwind bad” camp. It’s just fairly mediocre and creates some undesirable incentives in the codebase.

Tailwind is terse. That’s literally the only thing that’s better about it imo.
Over this year I have become very happy with my choice
