i tried but i gave up on the ai stuff. mark,, ive been in the g field for decades. ai is a sham. it will blow up soon enough. even if it gets results, it’s costing twice as much energy as profits it generates (which is why it will crumble)

as for business i don’t comment much bc im not a business person, but i am dismayed at how most corporations are behaving these days and id like to see restrictions on them: more public benefit corps, and prevented from destroying ppls lives & our planet
Unhelpful but once on a business text somehow 'thing' became 'thong' which is a word I'd never used once on that device. It could be worse, I'm just saying...
From VCs, to tech industry, to hedge funds, an enormous amount of money has poured into AI in one way or another. There are finance bros from all over who *need* AI to succeed. It's a massive bubble, and they are desperately hoping no one notices.
Is it different this time? In some ways no, but I think the exposure may be larger and more diverse, and therefore the correction may be more painful and more widely felt.
Tech makes up a much bigger share of the economy than it did back then, and the exposure goes beyond tech industry.
nope. early tech, and mind you i’ve been involved since the late 80s, indeed made enormous advancements; the production gains far outpaced the investment into it. this simply isn’t true of ai no matter how you run the numbers
look i thought it was pretty cool at first, but again run the numbers, look at how it’s used, what it produces, and what “higher ups” want to do with it. it literally does not compute 🤷🏻♀️
Perhaps you’re looking at it differently than me, but AI is just an extension of tech. It’s making massive alteration when it comes to automation. Look at the entertainment industry. Call centers, driverless cars.
What numbers are you missing? I’m sure I’m missing a lot, but my eyes aren’t lying.
