So the phone rang from a London number at 11:16, I answered and quickly realised it was one of those scammy calls
In those few seconds, the person I was waiting for called (haven't spoken to them before) and I got the beep in the background to say another call was waiting and I was so confused
I get really thrown in those situations too - the other week I was meant to be meeting someone at a station, so I came up the escalators and immediately a guy came over to me, and I thought it was them. No, it was some "sign up for this charity" person, and I was too confused to hear his pitch.
I remember when call waiting first came in... and now it occurs to me that if I heard that beep on a phone call now, I have completely forgotten how to switch to it... I can see myself frantically googling how to on the computer while the phone is wedged between my shoulder and ear
That's just what happens,Tits. When I was young, my sister and I would hold our hands near the toaster to try and keep them from jumping up when our toast popped up. Never worked that way.
