The Dead Kennedys are not the absolute and best source of the messaging in their music, there is plenty of more contemporary music in a variety of genres that have a progressive message and criticism of American politics and the establishment. Dude needs to stop being a music elitist.

I would agree it could be better articulated if that was the point. It’s still putting people down for not getting that message from one specific band. If they want more people to listen to DK they should call people in, not out.

You're right in everything you say. I didn't take it THAT literally myself, and the immature side of me appreciates a bit of black-and-white snark even knowing it's untrue. There's no way to be inclusive with DK, just not that kind of music. Nothing else to defend; I found it funny is all.
