TYLER PERRY: ".. Does anyone else find it appalling that insurance companies can take billions of dollars out of communities for years and then, all of a sudden, be allowed to cancel millions of policies for the very people they became rich on?"

They support every human in their country.
They are incredibly successful capitalist economies. It’s just that they curb the greed and excess that capitalism breeds through strong regulations and enforcement of social responsibility.
The result is very high wages, outstanding benefits and a very happy population.
Oh, they'll occasionally kick some back our way, as the law and maintenance of the facade require, but for the most part, what they collect, they keep.

What's appalling is that you just voted in a government that doesn't give a damn about climate change. This, my American friends, is the result. And it's just getting started.
They are beholden to the shareholders and funnel investment money from the policy holders. State Farm has a net worth of $134 billion.
"Company" is not the same nor interchangeable with the definition of "Government"
I'm just not sure why we trust them. They are NOT on our side [old Nationwide ad] NO major company is on our side. I had some idiot ask me if I thought companies were "better than they were."
Bottom line: no subsidy for high risks.
Like a Good Neighbor? NOT
You’re in Good hands? NOT
If they void a contract, money should be returned.
There’s no one easy trick that will make people happy. Raise taxes on everyone in CA even low risk areas ❌ raise taxes on everyone in America ❌ allow insurers to jack up rates in high risk areas 👍 from me but ❌ from all the commenters here
In 2016 military leaders warned government that climate change is a grave threat to national security.
Scientists in the US have warned about economic impacts since the 50's.
Hollywood big wig discovers insurance companies are greedy.
The insurance industry is corrupt & immoral. Has been for ages.
It's insurance to cover insurance companies!🤬

Collective / mutual insurance cover?
Insurance cover via union membership?
Look at what deregulation did to Boeing, once the most respected company in the world is now a f-ing joke.
There are group self-insurance funds in worker's compensation, but it's a lot more difficult for home owners and personal property. The closest we have now are mutual insurance companies.
They overcharge and underpay.
They cancel policies unless policed by the government
They have obscene profits. ETC….😡🤬
You shill for billionaires.
Thats fucking sad.
You must be very wealthy to be so goddamn tone deaf.
I am not saying that insurers are good managers or care about people. They care about their
I am sorry so many do not have insurance but this situation was easy to anticipate and the politicians ignored it.
They do this in every major disaster. Hurricanes? You should have had Flood coverage. Tornadoes? You should have had Wind coverage.
With the increased expense of these huge disasters, governments are going to
Everyone, except those who have2
Underprice or just write policies where they can predict high losses that could take the company down. Why should3
Oh thank you Tyler— you’re spEakiNg trUth to pOwer!
What is appalling is that we've been telling everyone for 50 years, and screaming for 30, that this is what climate change would bring.
Maybe insurance companies thought California Democrats needed a climate crisis badly. Did they?
Why does Government force us to buy insurance?
No one is mandated to buy health insurance.
Then we complain about the homeowners insurance. But thanks to fewer natural disasters we don’t have as many problems except for those who regularly lose everything when the municipal sewer system floods neighborhoods.
"Not for us it isn't!!!"
-These assholes:
Insurance companies: yes
Environmentalists: “wait!”
Categorically false information.
Nordic countries have rules over % of pay for highest and lowest in a company (Denmark it’s on 7x).
In USA it’s 1000x
US rich do everything to avoid paying fair tax, so shocker - have awful public services
I really struggle with this " fk the 3 million without health and fk the 4.1 million in shelters or sofa surfing .....but the rest you have a point
Insurance companies greed is nothing new, risk management is part of what they do, which is make money, an initiative to de-privatize the industry like in some UE countries, maybe the answer
Insurance companies don’t cover all of a risk by themselves; much of it is covered by reinsurance, especially in the case of catastrophic events. If they can’t afford to reinsure a risk they can’t continue to insure it.
Again,.. Until WE start to fight back en masse, nothing will change!
Includes arson fires.
Private companies to support low-med risk states.
{Not surprising. I've been on the bad end of insurance situations more times than I can count, & I know I'm not the only one. I'm not downplaying what they did: it's egregious & evil -- no words strong enough...}
