Apple did not pay Doyle to use iPhones for “28 Years Later.” However, there *is* a new short that was filmed with iPhone 16s. It was released yesterday and stars Stormzy.

Oh, and yes, the jarring “Boots, boots” audio is in “28 Years Later” although arguably used more effectively in the trailer (which now has 28 million views): https://youtu.be/mcvLKldPM08?si=lGa81ziN8XmjgSO4
And I made a mistake above, as some have pointed out. The first film was “28 Days Later.” The sequel to that one was “28 Weeks Later,” which wasn’t a Boyle production and is said to be inferior.
In other news ... looks like Danny Boyle's "28 Years Later" has done well on its opening weekend, grossing $60 million worldwide. Follow-up in already in the can, but third has yet to be financed so box office success will likely lead to Sony giving the thumbs up.
I watched a preview of "28 Weeks Later" and the next day had to cross the pedestrian bridge at Canary Wharf, it featured as one of the places where they kept the Zombies at bay - very scary.
I wonder if it was always the plan to use it in the movie, or if it's incredible impact in the trailer made it necessary! Looking forward to seeing this soon.

I got fifteen minutes into the second, and all I could think was "Nope Nope Nope Nope Nope Nope!" before switching it off.
I've decided to give the third a pass.
