This budget bill isn’t just expensive, it’s reckless. The CBO says it’ll blow a hole in the deficit so big it'll trigger over half a trillion dollars in cuts to Medicare. Seniors deserve better.

The bill’s poison pill is “a significant restriction on the authority of federal courts to hold government officials in contempt when they violate court orders. Without the contempt power, judicial orders are meaningless and can be ignored.” - Heather Cox Richardson
Oh great. First it's worrying the computer systems will become inoperable, now they just won't be able to pay the bills. Good thing I'm over 65 and can get COVID shots. 🤦♂️
“Yesterday the CBO reported that the measure will add $2.3 trillion to the deficit over ten years, and noted that when a budget adds too much to the federal deficit, it triggers cuts to Medicare (not a typo) under the Pay-As-You-Go law.”
The number of primary care physicians in my Capitol city who already refuse to accept Medicare patients is staggering. When this hits, we seniors will be completely screwed.
