I discuss a bit of economics and politics. It often shows more empathy than some humans do. In the UK only twenty four percent of the working population have a GCSE in maths (secondary school). How are they going to do stuff that needs more?
Here most youngish people won't be able to calculate the total price of the products in their shopping basket without a calculator. They won't be able to handle it even with rounded numbers. :D This is our education.
So this impacts peoples ability to do certain jobs. It is the same with literacy. I was wanting to create some resources to make a dent in some of this.
With literacy here is better. Most people are bilingual or trilingual. But there are some who can't spell basic stuff even in their native language. But that's rare. I met only one person like that in my 42 years.
