This is like one of the big reasons I couldn’t live in like NYC or SF or Boston. The idea of no central air seems crazy to me. Granted I’m used to Virginia summers, but also I run hot! I just couldn’t.

Reason #2 is I also need a dishwasher. I’m bad enough at washing the dishes as it is with one.

When I first moved there, it was only truly hot for like 2 weeks a year max. It got worse and worse over the years but I remained stubborn. But now I live with central air and can not go back.

In SF proper you might need an air conditioner a couple times a year.

More likely you’d be running the heater in August.

(On the day you need it you REALLY need it, though)

Head down the peninsula or to the other side of the bay though and you better have AC in your house or it’s gonna suck.
