What remains are foot soldiers and their field commanders - a network of cells of 20+ year olds. Among 2m displaced, there's simply no way to "eliminate" them, even if Israel imposes direct military occupation. Every day brings new reasons to fight, new relatives to avenge.

Hamas's military workshops that produced rockets and explosives are all gone. Weapons? There's no reason to think they have many rockets left. They have RPG and guns, but again, these are impossible to eliminate, and are not a threat.
What's left is the network of tunnels - or some of it.

Hamas have been destroyed, just like everything else in Gaza. Reports suggest that they are now despised more than ever by large swathes of the population in Gaza. Their "rule" is now limited and weak, they have been unable to pay salaries for 3 months now.

There are plenty of Hamas fighters who occasionally (not often) plant bombs and shoot at Israeli forces. There are cells that hold the hostages. Not much else is there. Hamas in Gaza is destroyed. The Israeli cabinet could have declared victory long ago.

The reason they haven't is that their "total victory" is not the destruction of Hamas, but the physical destruction of Gaza, the physical destruction of Palestinians, the political destruction of parts of Israeli society, and remaking of the Israeli state, through genocide and ethnic cleansing.

Well, there is *a way* to do that - exterminate every one of them. And Israeli govt seems to be largely trying to do just that. Of course, that won't work with Palestinians abroad, who will likely won't be able to accept any Israeli state for generations, if at all.

The objective never was to destroy Hamas. It always was to accelerate the project to destroy the Palestinians, which has been going on for decades.
Racism, apartheid, ethnic cleansing and now genocide.
Hamas is a symptom. The root cause is Israeli persecution of Palestinians.
