That darker side of 15 has been just below the surface for a few different episodes and I've been waiting to see it surface... But this wasn't the moment. There was no big build to make him crack, it happened in a second and was explained with one line. Would've made more sense in the finale imo

That's probably why. It gets wearing. And RTD has a theme of the Doctor needing a companion around to remind him not to lose it & become his enemies because he's always a hairs breadth from it otherwise, after all he's experienced. It's not perhaps the only interpretation of the Doctor, but it's his

Maybe. Perhaps it's sitting wrong with me because in the metaphor of the storyline, the dude is the ISC's version of a person from Gaza with the corporation being Moroccanoil/Israel... So to see the Doctor torture someone who was persecuted (even if they were doing evil) feels wrong

The Doctor is in the wrong in that scene. Belinda could’ve called him on that more harshly, sure, but the framing of it all in the moment is positioning the Doctor as scary, vindictive and out of character.

I agree with both of you in different ways. But idk. I feel like Kid should've been written as more hesitant about going through with the act. Then the Doctor could/should've been more compassionate, and tried to talk him down. Shared understanding of the rage, but told him it wasn't the way.

I think the easiest “fix” would be to have Belinda be way way more vocally put off by what she’s seen, and to end the episode with her more eager to get away from the Doctor than ever.

I personally don’t need that but if you really really want the narrative to condemn the Doctor, that’s the route.
