Seems like they followed an illegal order. When I was in the Army, we knew we were not allowed to do anything political in uniform. They are responsible whether their commander told them to do it or not.

I know, I got the lectures too. So they probably *could* be charged. But, given the nature of the infraction, I doubt they’d get convictions against the GIs. Now, the officers giving that implicit permission should be charged and would probably be convicted by a fair military jury.

If they were at least WORRIED that they might be charged with that (which this bunch seemed clueless of), they might have shown a bit more decorum.

They represent our military on the world stage, when on camera. They made us look like a dangerous joke.

Neither would this former airman and soldier.

I don’t at all approve or excuse, I just think it would be an exercise in futility. But the officers can and should be held to account.
