I'm sorry, as a woman, to be writing this about another woman, but your summary misses an important point. It is always sad when somebody succumbs to depression and takes the drastic decision to end their life, but lets not get too sentimental here. /1

The law is neither here nor there in this matter. As a 14 y/old rape survivor, I know the self-reflection, -blame, -examination. There is excellent help available for this. Epstein and his cohorts get away with this all the time. My goal is to deny them their prize and show kids its not worth it.

There were men in power who should have known better who wronged her, a 17 year old. You explicitly state this. Being guided by rich and powerful men to make a bad decision is still exploitation. I'm sorry you think that she deserves to shoulder some of the blame for this.

To simplify: In WW2 when German soldiers bundled bewildered jews off of trains at death camps, they were pushed into what they thought were showers. (NO CHOICE). This young woman was invited/lured to a party. Door "A" or Door "B" = choice. The disgusting abuse that took place can never be excused.

/6 I can sympathise to a degree that she was brought so low by the consequences of her series of very bad decisions, but find my compassion for someone who ultimately could have turned their life around and did not, wanting.
