I try to remind myself that I have never once in my life regretted showering or brushing my teeth. Every single time I've done it, it has improved my mood and general well-being.
i had a partner who had real problems with good dental hygeine. so to help her, i bought stuff for her to use when she was staying with me and i made a joint routine out of us doing our bedtime routines together. it was helping her a lot while we were together and i hope it's still helping her now

In all seriousness, I don't have good advice, cuz I do the same things....
I had a shower yesterday, but haven't today.... without a regular schedule to go by, I slack on maintenance....
LOTS of reminders and persistence. i used to use a whole routine app that let me break it all down into steps to follow. and it still took like two years to get to a point where i dont need reminders

Once a year is fine if'n ya pencil it in on yer calendar....
I recommend new year's eve or new year's day, or even yer own birthday!....
