I understand Myko hasn’t been playing well but he’s also playing in a side that is forced to defend for 80% of games and with Ndaiye ahead of him he has less cover. I also understand recency bias.

Sorry but what are you talking about?! Ndiaye has better defensive stats than Myko! Nearly 3 more ball recoveries per game! He's played as a secondary LWB most games!!
Idk what constitutes a “ball recovery” but it surely isn’t just defensive actions. FBref has Myko at 3.07 tkl+int p90 while Ndaiye is at 2.92. But this isn’t the point of what I brought up earlier. The heat map comparison to look at is Dwight last season to Ndaiye this season
2.92 Vs 3.07 isn't a massive difference is it? Plus Ndiaye is supposed to be played as a forward and still got similar numbers. Ndiaye numbers compared to McNeil last season similar, but Ndiaye edges it.
That is a very good indicator of how our system as a whole doesn’t work in creating attacking opportunities and how one player playing slightly higher than the previous leaving that side more exposed. That along with poor performances lately and that left side is a disaster.
That doesn’t mean though that we need signings on the left side. We play on the back foot 80% of the time with our LM being the primary creator requiring him to get forward while also being a vital part of our defensive shape and asking him to defend as much as he has is a borderline crime
We 1 million percent need a new LB, you can try and twist it how you want but it's as plain as night and day. The system is terrible but Mykolenko is good/average defensively and completely shite going forward. Mykos numbers also masked by Ndiaye having to get back and help him out.
