1. For many decades most ice cream trucks were run by a company called Good Humor and they'd play "Turkey in the Straw" to attract kids, so yeah -- for the US for... hell since our great grands? Thats always been the consistent themesong

When I was growing up (90s) the ice cream truck played The Entertainer (Scott Joplin) rather than Turkey in the Straw. But maybe good humor didn't control those trucks.
Wow! Well, it was D'ye Ken John Peel where I grew up, and the Popeye theme where I lived from then until recently, and I'm actually slightly worried about whether saying that doxes me in any way, maybe someone knows what tunes are where!
Over here RZA from Wu-Tang Clan did an official replacement for the song but I dont think it ever got to be used as most ice cream trucks are retired nowadays
This is one of the bigger culture shock moments I've had about America in a while.
Here, ice cream vans run apparently year round and if they're tied to any franchise larger than the bloke currently driving it, we don't know about that.
Even if a famous recording artist did make a "replacement" it would do about as much good as if Trent Reznor composed "the official replacement for the tune you hum to yourself on the way down the stairs"
