Side note: When I played the demo for Critter Cove and couldn't find an option for arctic fox ears, I decided to play as Leska instead. While the arms still look a bit funky, this is a lot closer to her intended appearance. Especially that mischievous face.

So, after being randomly teleported and spending a few months wandering around this strange new land, Leska is grabbing some food at a tavern when she overhears a strange woman offering an obvious quest hook to some himbo dragonborn paladin. Sensing adventure, she introduces herself.

A few minutes later the woman is shoving Leska, the paladin, an annoying alcoholic bard, and a socially anxious elf druid out the door to start their adventure before they end up accidentally wrecking the place. We're to investigate rumors that something fell from the sky in the next town over.

We get there and find the place overrun with undead mutant dog creatures that the Druid insists have "super rabies". We also find some weird stone statue sitting in a small crater at the center of town. The way the DM describes it sounds suspiciously like a stargate, but Leska doesn't know that.

There's little else to find in the town proper, but there's a spooky mansion on a hill because of course there is. Inside we find more undead creatures, a pair of doll-like twin girls that are constantly dancing and singing in an unknown language, and a bunch of weird cult shit.

We also find a couple of important-looking dudes upstairs, but one quickly grabs whatever he's working on and runs off while the bigger one, a bodyguard, attacks us. We barely manage to wear him down, at which point he jumps out the window. He's already bought enough time for his master to escape.
