I was complimented on my attitude and cooperation during cancer treatments as a teenager. Apparently, adult patients were aggressive, uncooperative, and cranky. I felt bad whenever I made their jobs harder, even if accidentally.
Couldn’t be me. My GP told me he gets stressed out just looking at me and pretty much every shrink I’ve been to has to pass me off to someone with more expertise.
People with medical trauma often set themselves up for more trauma by never trusting even the most basic advice from their doctors. Also by not seeking medical treatment until it is a dire emergency because “it’s never good news.”
Doctors may have issues, but the average patient isn’t helping.
