I was thinking about it. After the cup a ton of holes opened in the roster: they’ve managed to fill pretty much all of them…except goalie. Maybe they’ll figure something out this off-season. But yeah, feels kinda bad.
You have Nabokov coming up, no one wants to take a chance with Gerogiev and Juice showed no signs of ever hitting even back-up potential and has significantly regressed this season. The Avs Team Sv% can't get any worse, but something had to change in net. It's a no-brainer, in my opinion.
I’m all about a change in the net, but this isn’t the answer to what’s happening. They will have to give up a piece of their O and a goalie to make a significant change back there.
They just need a guy to be NHL average. This team is capable of winning 45+ with a .900 goalie
Gerogiev isn't even an AHL starter caliber, in my honest opinion, and it's affected the defensive confidence of the way this team plays in all three zones.
This team doesn't need significant change. They just need "good enough" neither Goerigev or Annunen provided that.
This team is 27th in SA/G and 28th in Sv%. That's a recipe for not making the post-season ok the last year of Mikkos' contract. This is a really small gamble cause it can't get worse.

I understand it - I think, as roster construction goes - in that I think they would’ve bit on an offer for either goalie they could live with.
MAKE ME A BELIEVER WEDGIE.

Juice needed more time, time the Avs dont have
