The Trump rhetoric about how "great" or hopeful this or that is quite literally is the same as what came out of Jefferson Davis's mouth in late 1864 even after the fall of Atlanta, the desertion of Confederate troops by the thousands and the fleeing of slaves in the wake of Union domination.
