I have a similar theory about laws protecting people more generally. At any one time we are protected by electrical safety codes, financial regulation, water standards, building standards, employment law... the list is endless. See Brexit as a pure example of this being taken for granted.

We have two homes because the first is caught in the cladding crisis and I can't sell it. I've tried. I have to subsidise the rent on the first one because I can't remortgage and liz truss fucked mortgages. I am wealthy by relative standards but not everything is this black and white.
