Reform have no MSPs and have never won an election in Scotland - but that didn't stop them getting a seat on the Question Time panel in St Andrews

This today by @iandunt.bsky.social is one of the very best things he has ever done. (I wish I could write about Birmingham a fraction as well as he writes about London.) iandunt.substack.com/p/they-hate-...

Will quite often talks a lot of sense about Welsh politics, but he's nailed the UKs problem with 1 analogy "Under first-past-the-post, because there are more people wanting Special Brew than cappuccino, lattes or flat whites respectively, you are all condemned to go out on the piss."

Stephen Kinnock is lying. People don't lose PIP when they get a job, its not an out of work benefit & plenty of people on PIP work Kinnock knows this. What he's doing is part of a wider govt strategy to paint disabled people as shirkers & scroungers stealing from working people

The iPaper reports the rise of Reform while bemoaning the lack of trust in politics… brought about largely by politicians like Farage peddling ruinous populist bullshit for power… and media shying away from calling that out. His goddam Brexit is a gold-plated example of why people have lost faith.

I don't want to hear "we can't afford it" one more time from Labour. Not while they continue to reinforce their Brexit red lines. The amount of money being left on the table by not seeking to rejoin the EU is eye-watering. The tax lost to Brexit would have paid for everything Labour needed.

Difficult to overstate how much blood RFK and Trump will have on their hands in the coming years. Difficult to overstate how many innocent kids will die as a result of the people who cast votes for Trump last November.

Oh and feck off Wes Streeting as well. Private Health Care works because it doesn't have to provide care to millions of people with comorbidities. It picks and chooses the easy bits and the patients aren't going to need intensive long & costly health treatments Private Health Care is SELECTIVE🙄

The global fight against climate breakdown is being undermined by virulent disinformation. It’s a coordinated, well-funded campaign to delay action, erode trust, and protect profits. Mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo and I wrote for the Guardian on what can be done about it.

Is it too late to give Sacha Baron Cohen an Oscar for this? Not a damn lie told. 🇺🇸

Please explain the difference between Feudalism where Lords own everything and you can't afford to buy anything. And Capitalism where billionaires own everything and you can't afford to buy anything.

Nine years ago the godfather of Brexit, Lord Daniel Hannan, predicted life in Brexit Britain in June 2025. Roll the tape… (VO by @gavinesler.bsky.social. Part 2 below👇)

The BBC’s decision to pull a documentary about Israeli war crimes in Gaza shows how its enforcement of 'impartiality' almost always benefits just one side www.adambienkov.co.uk/p/the-right-...

In case it wasn’t already obvious. www.rollingstone.com/politics/pol...

9 years on from the Brexit vote, the verdict is in and predictions correct: 🕳️£40 billion hole in public finances 📉4% hit to UK productivity 📦15% drop in trade 💷 £100bn in tax rises—40% of which Brexit made necessary Happy Brexitversary! 🇬🇧🎉 www.thetimes.com/article/346e...

"broadcasting this material risked creating a perception of partiality that would not meet the high standards that the public rightly expect of the BBC. Impartiality is a core principle of BBC News." 🤔 except when it comes to domestic politics www.theguardian.com/world/2025/j...

If you've ever wondered why Trump lies all the time, this explanation by Professor Timothy Snyder is the best you'll ever hear. Please listen to it and pass it on. It makes everything so much clearer! [SOUND ON 🔊]

"Fear of provoking the tyrant keeps democratic leaders from telling the unvarnished truth about his regime. It is a risk. But a more insidious danger grows in silence, and there is no method for countering tyranny that leaves the truth unspoken." Another brilliant column by @rafaelbehr.bsky.social👇

Yes. In fact, Trump was caught on microphone, seriously or jokingly, saying exactly that: he wants to be like Kim Jong Un.

Farage and the far right in general come from a grievance culture. If you do what they want, even maximally – Brexit – they’ll move the goalposts and keep moaning. If you engage seriously with their concerns, they’ll find new ones. You will never satisfy them, because they don’t want to be satisfied

The Daily Express - which has a long history of platforming climate sceptics - somehow can't quite bring itself to mentioning the term "climate change" in its editorial today...

“Do you have a copy of ‘Action on grooming gangs’ by the Tory Party?” “It was never written as they did nothing for 14 years and it would have been just blank pages? Oh, I see”.

I promise y’all: marching in step is quite easy. Nothing difficult about it. That bad marching was intentional. I guarantee it.

Honestly I still can’t stop laughing 😂😅🤣

It is extraordinary, but grimly inevitable, that the people most responsible for hobbling the UK have become the loudest & whiniest critics of the consequences of their own actions. A big part of the process lies in people like ‘Lord’ Hannan actually being *rewarded* for their ignorant delinquency.

Shrink from it? He can hardly wait to deliver for his investors.

Memo from Private Eye to our broadcasters

Nice to see Australia struggling at Lords, just a shame it's not against England.. #WTC 🏏

David Pope in Canberra Times

“Brexit has shattered confidence in Britain’s economy” And yet the politicians who championed Brexit still strut around like they’re owed power, rather than a heavy dose of proper scrutiny and public disgust for the damage they’ve collectively done.

Well played Senegal

#BBC crafted by #Tories, chaired by Tories, edited by Tories, broadcast by Tories, now engineers election of #Reform Britain the most Class orientated society in the World.

When did you ever hear the BBC stating that it must alter “story selection” and “other types of output, such as drama”, to win the trust of Green voters, or of unrepresented people on the left? All the shifts are in just one direction. bylinetimes.com/2025/06/09/b...

Trump is obviously a fascist. Time to stop avoiding the term.

This is precisely correct.

I’m more and more convinced whatever Labour does or doesn’t do, it no longer matters. The media in all forms, wants Reform in power, no matter what they do or say. Just like they wanted Johnson to win the 2019 election. They want drama and chaos & Farage. Even though they know he’s totally unfit.

The BBC is biased, it’s official.
