Trump continues to crash through standards of conduct once inconceivable for a POTUS. He also violates by orders of magnitude ethical standards he voiced for Biden and Clinton. www.nytimes.com/2025/05/11/u...

So, if I’m reading this right: They gutted the office that runs the government’s award-winning, in-house HR and staffing software, and now they’ve inked a sole-source, no-bid contract so that a private company on proprietary software can do what the office of civil servants did on in-house software

just over the last 5 weeks, Trump has helped swing elections (against him) in Wisconsin, Canada, Australia, and the Vatican.

I just ripped through this book in 2 days and I *cannot* emphasize enough how wonderful it was. If you like mountains, hiking, dogs, poems, cookie recipes, and/or just love great storytelling, do yourself a favor and read this book immediately.

personally would like to see every store show what part of the price increase is due to tariffs bc if these tariffs ever come down, i need to see that price go right back down

In the law firm executive order cases, DOJ takes the position that an injunction barring implementation will only be enforceable against the govt agencies named in the complaint. So Perkins Coie just amended its complaint to name all the relevant fed agencies. The case caption is now 40 pages long.

The U.S. Postal Service has quietly begun assisting Trump's 'mass deportation' effort, sources and records show www.washingtonpost.com/business/202...

In a few years (max) when people start asking why we thought AI was a good idea I am creating a record that we did NOT think it was a good idea and the main reason people were ever convinced was billions of dollars of propaganda

Movie you’ve watched more than six times, using gifs.

So much for Brooklyn Born Chocolate

If deporting US citizen children with cancer isn’t your redline, it’s time to reassess your priorities.

Arresting judges. Threatening allies. Lying about trade deals. Trying to sell campaign merch from the White House. Floating a 2028 run. Deranged. Dangerous. Undemocratic. We must retake our democracy.

So we have to pay for fashy kitsch out of canceled NEH money www.nytimes.com/2025/04/24/a...

"The Agriculture Department will not require poultry companies to limit salmonella bacteria in their products, halting a Biden Administration effort to prevent food poisoning from contaminated meat." www.seattletimes.com/business/usd...

My god. He’s gone after the Civil Rights Act!!!! www.whitehouse.gov/presidential...

The US Constitution guarantees due process. Donald Trump is eroding it in real time – we must fight back to restore the balance of power. Today, I’m announcing a series of measures against El Salvador for aiding his unconstitutional deportation scheme.

'We cannot give everyone a trial' ?!?! Yes you fucking can! That's what makes it a democracy.

You know all the money they stole from cancer and disease research. Trump is now trying to funnel it to his AI donors via David Sacks. www.whitehouse.gov/fact-sheets/...

JD: Listen, father, I've got a lot of ideas that will really turn this church around, get it moving in the right direction. First we get rid of POPE: Oh my God, kill me now GOD: Whoa, really? If you say so, man

Personally, I think it should be front page news for at least a month if a sitting US President is using falsified evidence to try and deny due process to a man who has committed no crime, but that’s just me

They were careless people, Tom and Daisy- they smashed up things and creatures and then retreated back into their money or their vast carelessness or whatever it was that kept them together, and let other people clean up the mess they had made. -FS Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby, published 4/10/1925.

Imagine laws, but for rich people.

Uhhhhhhhh I somehow don't see anything at all about it online yet but a helicopter just crashed into the Hudson River right out my window?????

Big day for corrupt insiders.

You set the house on fire, watched it burn, and then lost your nerve and put it out. You now have a partially burned house. Great job.

Dow shoots up over 2,000 points on the news that Trump is pausing most of his tariff scheme for 90 days. It's the kind of move that would generate massive profits for someone who had an early head's up. Speaking hypothetically here, of course.

The Social Security system is crashing, locking senior citizens out for long stretches nearly every day. And Trump's solution is to lay off 1000 more workers and slash the IT budget by 50%. Start asking if the purpose is to crash our economy and society. www.washingtonpost.com/politics/202...

YOU HAVE GOT TO BE FUCKING KIDDING ME!!! “They [the BigLaw firms] give you $100 million and then they announce that uh, ‘But we have done nothing wrong.’ And I agree, they’ve done nothing wrong. But what the hell, they give me a lot of money considering they’ve done nothing wrong.”

The Internal Revenue Service has reached an agreement with immigration authorities to share tax information about some immigrants without legal status, marking a major change in how tax records can be used.

U.S. Senator Ted Cruz has made an appearance at the Final Four championship game, despite fans claiming that when the Texas senator attends the game for the team he is rooting for, they are "cursed" and lose the game. trib.al/shyAwHJ

Every company should do this! Every single one. But make it Trump Tariff Surcharge.

I can only imagine the bailout package they are drawing up for themselves. As the saying goes, privatize the profits, and socialize the losses.

you couldve had a flourishing economy and stable employment but no you had to flush it all because an 8th grader on a field hockey team in rural iowa doesn't have the genitals you want

Up in this bitch the only stocks I talk about are made from carrots and rotisserie chicken I get from Walmart, and those things never depreciate in value

wokeness is coming back so fast they are renaming tomorrow "Black Monday"

I do think it's worth marking and remembering that these people were willing to tolerate everything we've experienced since January and more provided it didn't disrupt the economy.

As the economic news keeps coming out over the coming weeks keep one thing in mind: this is the fault of one man and didn’t need to happen.

it's not all bad news

Those trying to understand the tariffs as economic policy are dangerously naive. No, the tariffs are a tool to collapse our democracy. A means to compel loyalty from every business that will need to petition Trump for relief. 1/ A 🧵 to explain his plan and how we fight back.

Quick reminder that Congress can stop ALL THIS anytime it wants.

March saw the third-highest number of layoffs in U.S. history, and 80% of them were caused by DOGE This was before the tariffs It's just...unbelievable
