This is an #WIP engaving from the #aztec site xochicalco in #blender. Since the 3D scan was low quality, i had to carve all the detail back in by hand. I desperately need more #history scans, but no one I ask knows of any. This might even become an asset pack for #gamedev

I originally intended there to be actual fire on the #3D animation, but adding this was a huge tax on my machine. Between the volume adding 7 hours render time in Blender, it also made my GPU run out of VRAM with the water physics. I learned very hard that VFX was not "easy" compared to modelling

The thing people didn't see in the original #3D animation was the mixtec man, based off what depictions of mixtec soldiers I could find. Based off facial features of Oaxaca, I tried a muralist approach and failed to achieve that. Maybe one day I can do the art style justice.

I found this old #3D #WIP of the #aztec yahui of #Mixtec tradition. The creature uses real mixtec glyphs for the chestpiece and has an animated glow on the scales and glyph. The creature itself might not even be a creature, but a priest channeling a nagual of it during battle.

The X 94 is one of my first major #3D #art projects, and I went back to apply what I learned since I made it months ago. The original had 11 (!) 1K high resolution textures to give the entire gun texture. Now its just 1 1K texture. UVs redone, corners beveled. Its a brand new gun.

My other recent project was turmoil from swat kats. This model gave me a hell of a time to make, entirely on making the hair look good and like the show. I am going to run this model into the ground because of how painful making it was.
