I honestly don't know how we can expect any sort of progress as long as social media platforms are allowed to continue to monetize "engagement" and reactions over honesty.

Whenever someone extols AI because it will increase the productivity of a single employee (and thus eliminate the need for multiple employees), it is a nice reminder that said person would gladly eliminate huge swaths of their workforce if given the opportunity, viewing them as a necessary evil.
