I hate this. Why does it have to be 'the Catholic concept'? Stories about redemption and personal journeys exist in many traditions religious and not – eg. I'd have called Infinity Train a lot closer to the Wheel of Samsara and achieving Nirvana than anything Christian. 1/2

Possibly controversial opinion, but as far as the violence vs pacifism 'debate' goes, in the face of violent oppression, I think we need both. Both the carrot of potential profitable peace and the stick of kinetic destructive resistance are needed to convince the rulers to maybe *not*.

It's true, and also inevitable. Fascism is literally the ideology of mediocrity, of loyalty over expertise, of action over thought, of narrative over reality. There is no such thing as a fascist regime capable of being competent or permanent. They just do massive damage anyway.
