Delighted to share that @michaelrosenyes.bsky.social has been nominated by IBBY UK for the Hans Christian Andersen Award 2026, the world’s most prestigious international prize for creators of children’s literature. 📚🌍 A remarkable recognition of a singular voice in children’s literature.

🚨 The Government has just announced that free school meals eligibility will be expanded to cover all children living in households that receive Universal Credit. This is a very positive move, marking a significant step towards taking hunger out of the classroom 👇🧵

This will transform the lives of families & we welcome the UK Government's announcement. For children in poverty in England who are now eligible, this will mean the difference between hunger & a hot, nutritious meal letting them focus on learning. It also takes the pressure off household budgets.

Good move from Labour. More of this kind of thing, please.

Spot on thread from Sue. We have an attendance crisis and more young people are not attending schools. If the school’s themselves don’t reflect on what they are doing and the impact of this then it will only get worse. Sadly many schools have moved to a simplistic view of behaviour management

The biggest factor determining a child’s future is their parents’ income not their ability! So today’s decision to extend free school meals to every child in England whose parents are on Universal Credit is a helpful step forward with all sorts of educational & health outcomes.

Michelle Mone has admitted that she lied to the media over her links to a PPE firm. Enough is enough, it's time those in power put an end to this sordid affair. Sign the petition now and demand Mone is expelled from the House of Lords:

I'm no legal expert but I'm really not convinced this would even be legal. I think it would probably be classed as discriminatory against certain groups of workers?

Labour MP putting more pressure on school finances I just don't see how he thinks extras incentives to buy locally can work with the current limited budgets

This will probably come as no surprise to anyone but… www.thelondoneconomic.com/politics/ref...

Imagine being more concerned about people being too compassionate than about people being too cruel.

As the world’s first National Park City, it’s great to see a new green haven taking shape in the heart of London. The transformation of Grosvenor Square will blend beauty and biodiversity, helping wildlife thrive and giving Londoners space to reconnect with nature. bit.ly/43WTuBb

History was clearly not Clarkson’s strongest subject at school and he obviously didn’t pay much attention to Eng Lit either.
