This video is chock full of fun bugs facts and I found myself saying wow a few times. Check it out! youtu.be/y66Hw3sevuc?...

Three Palestinian students were shot in Vermont. A Palestinian six-year-old was murdered by his pro-Israel landlord. A Texas woman was indicted for trying to drown a 3-year-old Palestinian girl. We don't have to make this comparison to condemn what happened in Boulder on Sunday. We really don't.

AIR FORCE NONE? 🥴 Trump’s Air Force One deal with Qatar isn’t final. Turns out he asked for the jet—they didn’t offer. And now Qatar wants a memo of understanding signed with DC first.

We could all do with some wholesome trans content and this had me bawling: here’s the moment where Beth McCarthy gave a trans person a new name at her concert. 🎥 @Bethmaymcarthy on instagram

The most fundamental divide between science & 'denialism', à la Karl Popper: Science has a firm commitment to testing hypotheses by observation. It exposes 'pet theories' to the RISK of DIS-CONFIRMATION. 'Denialism' seeks to CONFIRM hypotheses by any means, even deception & half-truth.

There is no expense to eliminate. 1: Legal immigrants can't use it for 10 years AFTER they become citizens. 2: Non-citizens can't use it ever. 3: Undocumented non-citizens don't use it, because that will bring ICE down on their heads. (Me, I was just in Britain... I made use of the NHS)

The relationship that the Jewish community has to the State of Israel is more fraught than people outside our community know.

TIL in 1956 a pilot made a drunken bet in a Manhattan bar that he could get from NJ to Manhattan in under 15 min, went to Teterboro, "borrowed" a plane, flew across the Hudson and landed on the street in front of the bar. He then did it again in 1958 after a guy at a bar didn't believe his story.

“Karl Marx was doing Marxism wrong” is, to be fair, an extremely Marxist take

I subscribe to the @newyorker.com, I was part of ACT UP, I knew Larry Kramer well and know Tony Fauci too. Daniel Immerwahr's piece on RFKJr, features this and other passages that need a reponse. 1/

We’re all looking for the guy who did this.

5 years ago: “An incalculable loss” Today: Banning masks and restricting vaccine access

Found a baby songbird? Here's a newly updated chart!

He's appointing commissars to make sure scientists stay in line.

Hard not to read Rodgers' medical-conspiracy fixations as a way of sublimating the real, accumulating knowledge that football causes insidious brain damage

This guy is like one of 4 Americans who actually went and got their REAL ID and immediately they said it was a fake. Just so everyone knows when they toss your ass in a truck it won't matter what passport or identification you have they'll throw it in the street and you're gone

This Memorial Day Weekend, the goal is to grill without eating metal spikes.

This. This is morally and ethically correct. a fascist, illegitimate regime has no right to restrict your medical care much less to do so out of cruelty & murderous intent. You have every right to survive and thrive and these are radical acts of hope & fascist refusal.

“they are *withheld* from us because we’re trans” is unfortunately succinct and correct.

Back in the distant days when I lived a scholarly life, a former High Court judge told me one of my articles descended to the level of a gossip column. I’ve never been more proud. Here, I apply those skills to the Liberal Party-National Party saga. #auspol

A HAPPY UPDATE! Mahmoud Khalil was allowed a "contact" visit—without plexiglass divider—with his wife and newborn son this morning before his immigration hearing, ACLU tells me, so I think we can safely assume that he was finally able to hold his child for the first time.

Everyone thinks we grow a lot of corn & soybeans in the US "because of subsidies," & that's just... not accurate? So I made a video about it www.youtube.com/watch?v=NlSR...
