Putin has declared an Easter Truce. Nobody should be under any illusions. Trump has said America will walk away if one side is difficult. That side will be Ukraine, who don't wish to be surrendered by Trump. America will cease to help Ukraine militarily. All been obvious since November. Be ready.

This is an obvious point, but cannot overstated. There is an enormous difference between deporting someone - where they get off a plane as a free citizen in their home country AND FUNNELING THEM INTO A BRUTAL PRISON FROM WHICH THEY HAVE NO CHANCE OF EVER EMERGING!!!

Unsurprisingly “take money from someone else and spend it on me” always very popular with focus groups. There’s precisely no money to have had from immigrant welfare, and I’m unconvinced there’s much to be made from the “rich”, who are normally well enabled to move their money elsewhere.
