I am once again reminding everyone that the alternative health obsession with beef tallow is because of McDonald's french fries, which is the basis of everyone complaining about seed oils, and has expanded into a miracle substance like ivermectin did. Getting into "wellness" makes you an easy mark.

🚨 Bombshell report today in @hellgatenyc.com: Even the mayor's own staff acknowledges that ripping up the Bedford Avenue protected bike lane will make the streets of South Williamsburg more dangerous. "Eric Adams is willing to risk someone getting killed on Bedford Avenue"

I’m ranking Zohran #1 and I think his campaign is an enormous opportunity for New York City and politics in general. I do however wish other supporters would think a little more critically about the issues with approaching transit funding as a question of making one particular mode free.

This is, in all seriousness, the biggest Millennial/Gen Z dividing line: whether your first social network pre- or post-dates facebook.

It’s really pretty, but what function does all this achieve? Can it be turned off, especially on older phones that will struggle to render it? Is it accessible by default?

One reason I've become more and more comfortable with Zohran as this race has gone on is that he is not a rigid ideologue. He has beliefs, but he's able and willing to change his mind when presented with evidence. We need more politicians like that. www.nytimes.com/2025/06/10/n...

I knew they'd do this Operation Mincemeat number, which wd not have sold me on the show—it's an odd musical that way, the first 2 or so songs, you're thinking, Ok, this is fine, a little basic... & then it keeps building, showing new sides, flipping the performances, and suddenly you're 100% IN

This is it! You can't game the system as an individual voter. Your first two choices should be your "I'd love for them to be mayor" picks. Next two should be "I'd be okay with them" picks. Last one should be the "It beats the alternative" pick. In other words, just rank in order of preference.

What a bizarre order

What the actual fuck

I personally think unregulated Airbnb is destroying cities but I also think it is insane to be charged 500-800 a night to stay in a NYC hotel that is like a Days Inn in Peoria level of quality. How can NYC thrive if only the super wealthy can live there or visit?

Blocking new housing enriches existing property owners by forcing newcomers into bidding wars over scarce homes. If we want to lower the rent and stick it to the people getting rich off of real estate speculation, we need to end the housing shortage by building more homes.

housing affordability is one of the few issues where i feel like the median lefty is just wrong in their diagnosis of the problem.

Illegal right on red. Common suburban driver mistake.

I genuinely don't follow what point is being made here. Vacancies in New York are low because there isn't enough housing! This building is very expensive because ... there isn't enough housing! Where is the tension? www.nytimes.com/2025/05/27/r...

For design, this process is called "critique" and the fact that bootcamps don't teach this skill is partly responsible for where we are as a field. When you understand the purpose of your work, critique is immediate and tangible. When you don't, you get clown-ass "I don't like it" type feedback.

I think all the time about how men just can’t have fun. There’s a tiktok trend right now of guys calling their besties to say goodnight and every single response is “what the fuck is wrong with you” from the dudes they call. You can’t say goodnight on your bros???

And I’d like the Bike Lane Costs Project to evaluate the effectiveness of these bumpy thermoplastic markings. Do people’s memories get wiped every time they cross a curb cut? What is the distinction between the two kinds of arrows? Why are there three sets of arrows in some places and two in others?

Why is anyone polling this race without running the RCV process?

Fascinating vision of the future of the world of freaks who don’t want to participate in their own lives

The wording of the question has changed, but congestion pricing is now at -2 statewide; +10 in NYC in this month's Siena poll. That's a 20 point swing from -22 statewide shortly before launch in December. December poll: scri.siena.edu/wp-content/u... May poll: scri.siena.edu/wp-content/u...
