It's a disgrace for a publisher to declare bankruptcy, and relaunch with the serial numbers filed off, avoiding royalty payments. Yes, I'm talking about Unbound/Boundless. "If my business survives, I will pay you" is not a valid business model. Writers create the inventory. We're direct costs.

It seems part of the new techno grifters’ plan to plunder the corpse of Unbound is to exploit the IP in their archives. They’re in breach of contract. Get your books back. Get your agents on it if you can. Then they don’t have anything to exploit.

So there you have it. My ex-publishers who last year stopped paying me for the seven books I'd written for them, have today gone back on their promise that some of the money that they owe me and their other authors would come through. I should have guessed.. www.thebookseller.com/news/unbound...

So great to have support like this from brilliant independent bookshops like Astor's in Chagford, Devon. Fuck you, publishers who don't pay their authors.

Remember, remember to check your bonfire for hedgehogs this November! Piles of logs and leaves are the perfect spot for sleepy hedgehogs and they will usually be buried right at the bottom. 🦔🍂
