With this help will i finish marking before Sunday flight?

Just a reminder, if you have any year 12 students who are starting to research university options and think they might need to take an admissions test, my padlet has information and links to resources for MAT, TMUA, STEP, PAT, ESAT and AEA #ALevelMaths padlet.com/ECR_Maths/ad...

In #MathsToday #AlevelMaths we did a Maths treasure hunt. Someone posted on old Twitter a template some time ago. Nice hard questions for y13 revision. Self checking as you need to find the next clue- and soo nice to be outside! We are so lucky with our college grounds!

In #MathsToday #AlevelMaths Revision-I used @catrionaagg.bsky.social normal dist. completing tables- posted some time ago. Lots of sketches- no calculator- then we did conditional probability involving the normal-they found hard questions so much easier! Very grateful for what people share here!

Sign of the day…

Happy #Easter Weekend! 🤣

Since we’re all talking about it I want to blow up a real female space pioneer, Mae Jemison, an actual astronaut. She’s a graduate of Stanford and Cornel Medical School, served in the peace corps, started an educational nonprofit, and worked for the CDC researching vaccines. That’s a woman in space

🚀🚀

In #MathsToday I finished teaching all a level content! Never had I managed to do it before the Easter break- man, it feels good… lots of exam prep to plan now.. any top tips?

Word of the day is ‘erumpent’ (17th century), which describes buds and blossom that are bursting forth with vigour. Can also be used of energetic humans.

Happy #worldbookday to an incredibly niche group of people, specifically @mscroggs.co.uk

“Come on, Keir – even right-wingers support the EU youth mobility scheme Post-Brexit plans that would let young Europeans live and work in the UK are such a no-brainer, even Reform voters back the idea – so when will this government come out in support, asks Mike Galsworthy”

In #MathsToday- yesterday-a pair of students rolled four 5’s in an intro to binomial lesson. The celebrations were something to behold!

All that is solid melts into air.

In the classical world, to claim power over the sea was a clear sign of the ABUSE of power: Xerxes having the sea whipped, Roman plutocrats building over it. I think I know what they would have thought about RE-NAMING it!

Portuguese editorial cartoonist Zez Vaz reaches back to Tiananmen Square to call on American defiance.

Taking Britain out of the Erasmus+ programme was a huge mistake. Labour must rejoin and accept the EU’s offer of a youth mobility scheme

In #MathsToday yesterday- took y12 students to Bletchley park. Super recommend! Turing’s desk. Parachuting pigeons. New woman maths hero and Lorenz machine. Lots to see! The session on cryptography was very good too.

I wrote today to my MP, James Cleverly, about the cuts to the AMSP. I am not optimistic that much can be done, but you never know. If we could get every maths teacher to write then maybe they might think again. Maybe. #ALevelMaths

In #MathsToday a student was proper amazed with integration being an anti derivative and the area under the curve. Goosebumps and all! 😁

In #MathsToday Ofsted in college- always a bit stressful/did newton-raphson and students were brilliant!!

For all of those who have posted my cartoon with my signature cut off, here is the original.

Wow. Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde fearlessly calls out Trump and Vance to their faces. This is heroic. (posting in 3 parts due to Bluesky's 1 minute limit)

Sounds like a plan
