Custom domains for local development in Rails can be a nice addition to our toolbox. Trading localhost and some port number for a short and memorable domain name sounds nice, right? How about if we throw some secure connections into the mix? avohq.io/blog/custom...

Listening to this one, and find the part about "dopaminergic" personality fascinating, about the interest in building but not in running a thing. I've got this too for sure. At time mark 40:07: overcast.fm/+ABBj7VbY6C0...

Episode 58 is coming together! πŸ‘₯πŸ‘€πŸ‘₯ In this crossover, we chat with @adrianthedev.com and @yarotheslav.bsky.social from the Friendly Show and @jasonswett.bsky.social of the Code with Jason podcast about a topic near and dear to our hearts: organizing regional Ruby conferences. 😊 www.indierails.com/58

"Running every small conference edition is an act of love, dedication and a risk". This was probably the most personal and deep episode we recorded on this podcast. www.friendly.show/2278525/epi...

"Friendly.rb prepares you for life" This is something I didn't think I'll hear very soon. The stakes are high now! πŸ’ͺ

We're preparing a surprise for the Friendly.show podcast πŸ™Œ

I sat down with Josh Howard from Cloudflare and asked him my most pressing question... What *is* a Durable Object? We spent the next hour talking Durable Objects, D1, Workers, and how the whole Cloudflare platform works. You're gonna love this one. youtu.be/C5-741uQPVU

Among things to do at least once in your life, there is attending Friendly.rb. The conf and the organizers are great!

Decided to skip Rails World this year and go to @friendlyrb.com instead. Flight and hotel booked πŸŽ‰ Looking forward to it!

I didn't get one 😭

Handling file uploads in Rails applications has never been easier. With Active Storage, we can be up and running in a matter of minutes with local uploads and, with some extra effort, we can get cloud uploads rapidly. avohq.io/blog/cloudf...

Honest question: πŸ€” Is it that bad (and taxing on performance) to run both View Components and Phlex in the same Rails app? cc @joel.drapper.me @camertron.bsky.social

Building admin panels sucks 😑 I've probably built a hundred of them in the past, and I was mostly doing a bad job. πŸ§΅πŸ‘‡

Multi-step forms are a tough cookie to crack. They are so essential in onboarding flows and when trying to teach users about your product or a feature. Using something like wicked makes that way easier. Here's rather advanced tutorial of putting in place a proper onboarding flow for your Rails app.

Just gonna leave this here...
