“I’m in tears reading the stories of what might happen if these further cuts go ahead, which is why I’ve joined forces with others to demand action.” A strong piece by Cherylee Houston MBE on why she and fellow disabled celebs have launched #TakingthePIP. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

Had such noble intentions for today and then a headache so bad I can't sit up woke me up. Something something ME awareness month determined to make me aware I have ME more than anything else. Like I KNOW. I GET IT. I don't need raccoons banging dustbin lids at a disco in my skull to remind me!!!

For those with ME/CFS/LC: I have personal experience of post-viral syndromes (plural). While they're all different there are commonalities. Here are some things that help me. They might help you, they might not, but it seemed worth sharing. Do consult your medical professional. And much luck 💕

Today is World Fibromyalgia Awareness Day. It’s also an awareness day for ME/CFS and other chronic pain and fatigue conditions. #FibromyalgiaAwareness #WorldFibromyalgiaDay #FibroWarrior #ChronicPainAwareness #May12Awareness

Priscilla's first break-in of the year - eventually successful, but only due to the implementation of a new swivel technique to overcome the inevital leg-flail-tip-needed moment. Much hissing involved.

#WisCon is urgently looking for panelists! The con is online May 23 to 26, and is AWESOME. wiscon.net/2025/05/08/u... #WritingCommunity #WriterSky #SFF 💙📚🪐📚

It wouldn't be true to say I've finished the first draft of my novel, but it does feel like the second draft is very much in play now too.

a world without trans people has never existed and never will

Announcing #MillionsMissing 2025 on May 12th! #MEAction is organizing a community-wide protest to send out an SOS to our elected officials: Save our Support Systems. Save our Science. Save Our Society. Learn more here: www.meaction.net/2025/04/02/m... #pwME #MECFS #LongCovid #disability

The law determines what is legal. It does not determine what is true; what is just; what is morally and ethically sound and defensible. The history of law is the history of the legal system being wrong on these grounds. Trans women are women.

This is all going to get harder, but they literally cannot legislate you out of existence. When tomorrow arrives, you will still be here, you will still be who you are, and we will all still be here with you.

Artists, photographers, writers! Don't forget to submit your works to Wishbone Words Issue 16 by May 16! www.wishbonewords.com/submit If you've been wanting to submit cover art for Issue 16, here's your sign! To submit cover art, please let us know in the bio section of the submission form!

Writing is fine. It's literally the most embarrassing thing on earth to put yourself on full display for rejection or validation, but it's fine. I enjoy it. I find it therapeutic to set myself on fire.

Read this across three glorious time-doesn't-exist sittings when my preorder arrived early, then immediately got the audiobook so I can go straight into a reread while away this weekend. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful (and fantastic use of "off you fuck") - everyone get your hands on Dionysus!!

just imagine working at microsofft and thinking “let’s spend billions, steal a load of intellectual property, and destroy the planet to make an interface to write bad essays” rather than “let’s update MS Word so users can comment on footnotes”

Protesting from bed today in a national day of action against disability benefit cuts by UK government. The money could be raised by taxing the superrich - they will barely notice it has gone whereas reducing welfare benefits will hurt people needlessly. #WelfareNotWarfare #disability #CutsKill

So today was the official release day for my first traditionally published book. Out in Greenwood is an LGBTQ+ teen novel with humour, mixed with the emotions of realising you are gay at 15 but having to hide those feelings. Please retweet to help me get the word out.

Don’t let any one tell you that cutting disability benefits is about making “savings.” www.theguardian.com/society/2025...

We are disappointed but not surprised that Meta has used millions of pirated books to develop its AI systems. As a matter of urgency, Meta needs to compensate the rightsholders of all the works it has been exploiting. But what can authors do? Read here: societyofauthors.org/2025/03/21/t...
