Ages 0-4 are the most important, emotionally & intellectually, in human development. Yet, in the US, we have a very high rate of childhood poverty and a broken child care system. Congratulations to New Mexico for leading the way forward for high quality, free child care. Other states must follow.

🧵 Masha Gessen, who lived under Russia’s secret police, is sounding the alarm: the U.S. is now echoing those same authoritarian patterns. Raids, surveillance, fear tactics—it’s not theoretical anymore. We are watching a police state take root in real time. #OnYourSide @mashagessen.bsky.social

It's hard to adequately describe how scary it is to watch mainstream political journalists barely push back against a sitting U.S. president accepting a $400M plane from a foreign government that would literally be designated as an emergency command-and-control center during a nuclear war.

Article I, Section 9, Clause 8: “no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State.”

Speaking of Qatar, what’s Tom Barrack up to these days? Is he still the ambassador to Türkiye?

Arizona has so far indicted more than 100 individuals involved in the Medicaid fraud scheme and recouped $125 million — just 5% of the funds the state estimates it paid to bad actors. By @jasminedemers.bsky.social, with @azcir.org

Networks must be more cautious when reporting Trump’s so-called “deals.” His announcements often follow a familiar, deceptive pattern: declare a major breakthrough, only for the details to later reveal that nothing has actually changed. 1/

Hoping @raskin.house.gov @durbin.senate.gov ask Pam Bondi why she didn't recuse from a matter pertaining to Trump accepting bribes from Qatar, given that she herself was only recently a paid agent of Qatar.

Good luck to the intel agencies with dismantling every panel in the 747 that Qatar is giving Trump to check for bugs and trackers

It’s especially galling that AG Pam Bondi personally wrote the memo approving the gift of the Qatari airplane. Her last job was as a lobbyist for Qatar! efile.fara.gov/docs/6415-Ex...

In one email to Veterans Affairs HQ, doctors in PA said a hiring freeze was causing “severe and immediate impacts” and that more than 1,000 veterans would lose access to treatment for cancer, kidney disease and traumatic brain injuries. By @ericumansky.bsky.social & @vernalcoleman.bsky.social

There’s so much cosplay in this government it’s freaking unbelievable. They CLAIM Elon has stepped away, but don’t forget about DOGE—costing us more in lost efficiency than they save with their draconian cuts. More fake DOGE savings exposed…

Historic moment, the brave leadership of the free world gathered as fascist forces worldwide consolidate power, pitting us in a inevitable collision course to determine the future of humanity. To stand with Ukraine is to stand with mankind against the forces of evil. #3E #standwithUkraine

Kash Patel is the living definition of waste, fraud, and abuse—all on the taxpayer’s dime. Flying private to see his girlfriend, skipping critical meetings, and totally unfit for the job he was never qualified for in the first place. But hey… playing FBI Director is rough work.

Whoa‼️ Acting FEMA chief David Richardson just told his staff, “Don’t get in my way… I will run right over you.”—at his intro meeting. Threatening career FEMA workers who might resist Trump’s agenda. What matters is loyalty. Obey or get steamrolled. Authoritarianism — one agency at a time.

The sweeping deal means the Ivy League school’s settlements will total more than $1 billion for over 1,000 claims of sexual abuse by former patients of OB-GYN Robert Hadden, who worked at the university for 20 years despite decades of complaints.

What happened before Mayor Baraka’s arrest needs daylight. Did masked ICE agents let him in just so they could arrest and perp walk him to send a message of fear. Because that’s what it looks like. We’re sliding into fascism—and fast. And if we don’t stop it now, we may not get another chance.

MAYOR BARAKA: “@AlinaHabba wasn’t there. I didn’t break any laws.”

Having now watched the footage and interview two of the members who were there, the amount of armed, masked federal agents surrounding three members of Congress and a mayor outside the ICE facility was totally unnecessary; the only possible reason for it was intentional escalation and intimidation.

We just got out of a hearing alongside @publiccitizen.bsky.social where we argued that Trump’s OMB is violating transparency laws by preventing taxpayers from seeing how their money is being spent. We asked a judge to rule that the OMB's removal of its apportionment database was illegal.

As mayor of Newark, Ras Baraka has a responsibility to ensure that facilities operating in the city are adhering to laws that protect the safety and wellbeing of occupants and residents.
