Disabled people are the canaries in the coal mine when it comes to adverse weather events. Anything that can harm a non disabled person will hit us harder and faster. During extreme weather or catastrophe, check on the disabled people in your life. We must be included in emergency preparedness

The Senate reconciliation bill retains the trans healthcare Medicaid/CHIP ban. Call your Senators, we still have a good shot at killing this provision. Hundreds of thousands of people rely on this care.

I finished my last filling in all my actions against my employer and this has been three years of paperwork and healing and hell. I don’t regret this path but it took way more from me than I expected. I am done writing to address harm. My words are my own again. Finally.

One of my arguments to workers comp was that it couldn't be unreasonable for me to fear my employer would fire me for reporting since they later did try to fire me in the ways I feared. My employer's counter argument was that if they did that, it wouldn't matter since I didn't know they'd do that

I need to tell someone the most outrageous part of this but can’t state it publicly or it will be too clear who my employer is. Who wants to hear something WILD in DM?

My ex employer’s lawyer: She hasn’t even shared her diagnosis that or provided medical evidence of it and is just expecting you to take her work for it. Me: First, the central fact of this case is that I got a BRAIN INJURY, you gave me accommodations for it and then discriminated against me.

I claimed that workers comp violated my human rights by discriminating against me as a disabled person in certain ways and my ex employer responded that the workers comp policy is to only consider human rights when asked explicitly & immediately. Because you have to ask for constitutional rights.
