Andrew Cuomo doesn't like puppies either...no cuomo

5% holy hell I did not know it was even possible to be this unpopular

there are still hundreds of people in a foreign gulag without trial on the orders and at the expense of the united states like kilmar abrego garcia was

Maimonideans and Kabbalists just glaring at each other like

Obviously this isn’t my specialty, but I think it is obvious: the upper classes in the u.s. are radicalized. They believe they must crush the poors; there is no respect for the lack of healthcare or the housing crisis or opioids. We are closer to a draft than we’ve ever been for a while.

If Democrats truly want to appeal to young men, they should probably start presenting themselves as the party that definitively *won’t* draft you into an illegal war.

We have a housing crisis that is impacting communities nationwide. I joined @lynch.house.gov & @ushousefsc.bsky.social in Brockton to hear directly from experts on what should be done federally to support affordable and public housing in America. We must affirm housing as a human right.

Rubio on CBS: "This wasn't a regime change move." Vance on ABC: "Well, first of all, we don't want to achieve regime change." Vance on NBC: "our view has been very clear that we don't want a regime change." Trump, not waiting even 24 hours to undercut and humiliate them:

the main source of democrat opposition to trump bombing iran is that he didn't give them the opportunity to vote in favor of it first

The mayor of Huntington Park had formally directed the police department to enforce laws against ICE concerning unmarked vehicles, visible license plates and required agency identification.

We can't even get cops to arrest other cops for murdering Black people, so while this is a nice idea I don't see it happening

jesus.

“he argued that racism was intended to establish a “nobility of the skin.” Whiteness, Sumner understood, was a class hierarchy—an insight that is still resisted by people on every part of the political spectrum”

That onion ad in the nytimes needs to be read by everyone. People are just so used to calling everything corrupt that they don’t really know what corruption looks like. It is cowardly half-measures, telling people what they want to hear, and rank opportunism. It should make us ashamed

“And therefore, I am calling for the immediate impeachment & removal of the president” 🤔🤷‍♂️

Don’t take your eye off the ball. The attack on Iran is meant to distract you from the proposed changes to tax credits for soybean farms

Proud of these! I know from my conversations with @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social, and his public statements, that he wants to listen to the Hasidic community (where I was raised) and their needs, to talk and engage - like with every New Yorker. Using Hasidic Yiddish is just one of the ways!

Cuomo and Bill Clinton are picking up Kevin Spacey then they’re all gonna break Harvey Weinstein out of jail to start a sexual predator Fantastic Four.

I think that if you were not familiar with the supposed political values of the Democratic Party, its performance over the last five months would lead you to conclude that they are primarily a pro-genocide party with center right economics and a fierce commitment to loyalty and gate keeping.

It will never stop being a mindfuck to see the whole “we WILL confirm Trump nominees and vote for stupid Trump policies, but we have to draw the line somewhere: brown socialists who want to tax billionaires are TOO MUCH. We gotta go for the sex pest.”

They’re terrified of the people realizing their power. They’re terrified of anyone who actually wants to disrupt the status quo for anything besides profit. 📢 DON’T RANK CUOMO! 📢

To make a broader point, as of now, everyone needs to readjust their priors and be inherently skeptical about any video under 10 seconds long without cuts. That is where we are on the current state of AI video and audio.

We were very happy to give this scoop to @marisakabas.bsky.social's The Handbasket because it is important to support independent journalists who are doing the hard work at this time. Giving this story to Marisa also guarantees it will be in The Washington Post verbatim exactly 48 hours later.

So much NYC mayoral press coverage centers the views of racist psychopaths and ignores the MASSIVE numbers of Jewish New Yorkers working as paid staff and volunteers for the Zohran campaign. I wonder why!

one other side of this is something that I try to emphasize to my students: "what does freedom actually mean" is not a 21stC issue anachronistically read backwards into the 18thC. The US, French, and Haitian Revolutions happened at more or less the same time, with an overlapping cast of characters

The thing that everybody needs to read:

There's no reward in the attention economy for saying 'actually I don't know what is to be done now.' If there were, we'd be better off.

I need fewer lawyers and political scientists in my feed here, and more anthropologists and sociologists. Too much talk about how things in the US and globally "can't" or "must not" happen because of laws, not enough about what laws actually are and aren't, and how that's presently manifesting.

If it takes all of this to eek out a "win" for Cuomo, then the establishment Dems should be extremely concerned about future elections. A lot of people are done with the Democratic party.

Oligarchy, baby.

I'll just say this before heading out. If you're a young person in NYC, THIS IS YOUR TIME. The next couple of decades in this city are going to be shaped by what happens on Tuesday. Be part of the team that is turning the page on politicians like Cuomo. There are better choices.

Brown and Muslim lives are always seen as not as worthy, not as interesting, not troubled by domestic differences and historical traumas, not worthy of human interest stories, while at the same time they are always also expected to show restraint when stronger powers pummel their countries

If you were too young in 2003 here is what Bush told the American people: 1) The Iraq War won’t cost a lot of money 3) We won’t need a lot of troops 4) We’ll bring peace and freedom to Iraq 5) We’ll find WMDs 6) We’ll be welcomed as liberators 7) It will be easy 8) It won’t take long All lies.

I worry that escalating war with Iran will be used to whip up more fear and hate for non-white immigrants, particularly those of Arab descent, and be used for unjust deportations.

Here’s the thing. There are over 18,000 law enforcement agencies in the USA. Many of us have been tracking the right-wing capture of law enforcement for years and years. We’ve been talking about it. It’s well known.

Good news: we’ve RIF’d enough federal employees that we can’t detect these threats, and if we can’t detect them, they must not exist

Because it would require Congress to answer alot of questions they seem not to want to

AOC: “It is absolutely and clearly grounds for impeachment.”

Hey remember when the one of the most prominent Democrats in Minnesota and her husband were assassinated

UPDATE: At least *60* members of Congress have now signed on to efforts against the Trump-Vance admin's war on Iran. 59 Democrats. 1 Republican. After the attack, Democratic leader Chuck Schumer announced support for the War Powers Act and is urging all senators to vote for it.

My statement on the Trump administration's illegal military actions and the wars that must end.

Sen. Chris Murphy: "I was briefed on the intelligence last week. Iran posed no imminent threat of attack to the United States."

Shocker:

Jesus Christ they swallowed the whole shaft and the balls

I am incensed. This is all so heartbreaking and despicable. The Iranian people do not deserve this violence. We do not deserve this governance. The world does not deserve this. These outrages must end.

One thing the Dem establishment never really got over was the fact that Hillary Clinton lost the 2008 nomination because she supported the Iraq War. Denial and anger followed rather than learning from that decision.

hey panera can we have the lemonade that kills us again
