I am a lifelong student, thinker, policy wonk, political junkie and general dabbler in various studies. If only I could find steady work doing all these things . . . Alaska is where I come from, but Portland, OR is now home.

And, if English is not your first language, your brain needs additional time to figure out what is being said. I say this as a polyglot who is recovering from TBI. The brain is incredible, but it does need time to process and get the body to respond.

This causes trauma to the people as they try to process what is happening and what is expected. It’s like armchair boxing fans saying they’d be able to miss the second head punch. The brain needs time to comprehend what just happened before it can direct the body to respond.

The problem with police training is that they shout to disorient, expect immediate submission even though they just confused peoples’ brains and use violent take-downs when those orders are not immediately followed.

Remember when NASA did all the work to make space flights safe? Now, an immigrant (who was in this country illegally for some unknown time) from South Africa and some bald dude think they are smarter than the institutional knowledge of NASA … and, they profit every time their rockets blow up.

This is an old playbook from white supremacists dealing with ‘Indians.’ The US gov’s fav move was to ‘deport’ indiginous peoples of the SW to FL, or put them into reservation ‘schools.’ Just a new extreme by white supremacists.

Yes. The revolution will not be televised. The legacy media is asleep at the wheel after a century of having it’s ego stroked. It has forgotten it’s muckracking roots and is now owned by people who have too much money and no ethics.

Tuberville is parrotting Putin’s propaganda. Putin’s army is suffering incredible losses at the moment and the EU is ready to launch even more sanctions against his economy. This is why dictators always fail at war. The rest of the democratic world shuns them and turns off economic viability.

Yes, it was. But, that was a good day to do it on. Had to lighten it with ‘Slash/Back,’ a fun, sci-fi indigenous movie. There’s another one out there … I guess a documentary … about current Inuit life mixed in w/old footage from ‘Nanook of the North.’ I can’t remember the title …

🤦🏻 The assignment is very simple: vote no to *everything* Krasnov’s regime and/or his collaborators want. Everything. Those collaborators in Congress who want to cross the aisle to join the Dems should be welcomed. But, Dems should vote ‘no’ on everything.

As long as you recognize that plants are the basis of Western medicine, that indigenous knowledge has value, we might have a basic understanding of communication.

Ok, I figured you out. Too many words, not actually wanting to do anything. Got it. You wanted attention, I gave it, now you want more attention. And, now, a last thought for you to think about: This isn’t the proper forum for your right-leaning centrism as expressed in this thread.

Seriously? How’s the weather where you are, Eeyore? What’s got you in your grumpy pants? Yes, we know about economic disparity. Now, go talk to the impatient toddlers who voted for MAGA and tell them what they did wrong. You are talking to the wrong audience here.

🤦🏻🙄 You are missing the point made and now you are Eeyoring on top of that. I gave you why ppl voted against their interests and you paraphrased it back. That isn’t problem-solving. It isn’t constructive.

We needed to have patience. Biden’s plan was working. He gave more money back to the American people and that scared our oligarchs. Can’t have wealth redistribution! Instead, we look like a bunch of greedy, impatient toddlers on the world stage. Thanks, MAGA.

Reps tell us things will never get better no matter how long it takes, Reps actively work against what the Dems are doing and then Reps get voted back in. Rinse, repeat.
comment in response to post
I think it is more that the solutions to these issues takes time to bring to fruition. It’s the same damned thing every time: Dems work to make things better, Dems tell us the solution will take time, Dems tell us what to expect and when. Reps tell us bad things about the Dems’ plan never working.

🤦🏻 The assignment is simple: vote ‘no’ on everything this regime wants. Stop obeying, Senate Dems!

Sounds a little misogynistic … a snowflake, MAGA (insert favored slang for male genitalia here). Morgan has one and acts like one …

Europeans are very aware of what goes on in healthy food production. While I disagree with them about artificial sweeteners, I will just say that I felt healthier eating foods from Europe than in the US. Big Ag pollutes.

There is a main gathering area at most protests that are accessible. In Portland, OR, there’s a smaller protest loop, too.
comment in response to post
More techie, less protestie 😉 Peaceful protests are very effective right now. It always makes Krasnov have a bad day. Same with tanking Musk’s stock values. Makes em both have bad days.
