In DC X Sonic the Hedgehog issue #3, Beast Boy transforms into a green echidna. The coloring is inherent to all animals he becomes, however he calls this form an otter, which is likely a reference to the infamous hoax character, Rankles the Otter, who is based on Knuckles.
