All the best pope math jokes ready for tomorrow! #iteachmath

Random Thought: I don’t write fan mail, but occasionally, I think to myself oh so-and-so is a great author, or this person has really inspired me! I just want to send a note. I know I can slide into people’s DMs, or use their website contact form. It’s just not the same as writing a letter though.

NEW: I confirmed w/ CBP that the email @nicolemicheroni.bsky.social receive telling her to self-deport is real, not a scam. It's also is very weird and likely causing fear and chaos. I spoke w/ Micheroni—a US citizen and immigration attorney—about her experience. www.wired.com/story/homela...

When will people understand that personnel redundancy isn’t inefficiency? It means that when a person needs to be out for any reason, business can continue as usual. Multiple pathways to success if you will. The best #NCAAW teams understand this. Businesses and people need to, too. #MarchMadnesss

Once a year, I am guaranteed to reach out to all my old teammates and reminisce and complain about all things basketball. It last for a whole month and culminates in this weekend. #MarchMadness

A royal retirement for Princess Diana.

This tweet popping up on the screen for the #BirdTaurasi show got me. Want them to commentate every WBB game ever. #FinalFour #MarchMadness #WNBA

TIL Kareem Abdul Jabbar collects rugs and made 15837 field goals during his NBA career. #KAJ #basketball also I love the Capital One commercial that he made with Magic and company.

Geno is SICK of the powers that be! #NCAAW #NCAAWBB

I’ve started talking about equations and formulas as having different shapes/structures and it feels like something clicked for my Algebra students. #ITeachMath #MathsToday

Recently, I asked students to write about what mathematics IS and how it makes them FEEL. Then, we looked at folks anonymous responses and students wrote down their noticings and wonderings. Most remarked on the overwhelming negative feelings, but some of the very interesting things that it is. #♾️

Talking about the future with the older kid. “I know what I want to be when I grow up — a scientist!” Me: What kind of scientist? “A scientist that studies everything. And who also designs games.” Polymath-in-training?

Feeling a little overwhelmed with the news lately. Also, the flu cycled through the whole family. So I’ve been feeling quite exhausted for the last few weeks. What strategies do you have for absences and for self care so you can do your best for your students? #EduSky #ITeachMath

Precalculus students freak out for a test graphing polynomials and rational functions because of factoring, but then they make cool art like this on the side…. www.desmos.com/calculator/a... #ITeachMath

Sick and miserable, waiting to be seen by a health professional. Wonder if our current model of school calendar is just a setup for everyone to get sick in January. Do schools in the southern hemisphere have June/July or July/August off? How are illness rates? Do you all get less sick? #EduSky

A rewritten version of one of Zeno's Paradoxes: A robot is programmed to sense the distance between itself and the end of the room. Unfortunately, due to a glitch in its programming it only travels half the distance after each measurement. What happens to the robot as time goes on? #ITeachMath

I know free press means freedom of the press, but I will continue to believe that information should be free for the people. Paywalls and capitalism are the problem.

🚨🚨🚨🚨

I’ve done some version of this in the past, saving to remind myself to do it again!
