Thought this recent paper by @aksoyundan.bsky.social and Szekely was particularly good social science theorising. Takes the qualitative evidence seriously and builds on existing formal theory. Plus, a case of clear writing about game theory without formalism. journals.sagepub.com/doi/full/10....

A 2-year lectureship for someone with qualitative methodological expertise and experience of studying of political and civil conflict. 👇

People with lower skills tend to misjudge their ability, something known as the Dunning-Kruger effect. But there's a gender twist: while men overestimate, women underestimate themselves.

The UK's "Fundamental British Values" policy boosted British identification but not for everyone. It backfired for Muslims, reducing their likelihood of identifying as British. From @aksoyundan.bsky.social @buraksonmez.bsky.social osf.io/t7wzv_v1

It is a common mistake to mix up Poisson with poison in regression 201 ;)
