I humbly submit that before the Democratic Party tries to save itself by finding a "Joe Rogan of the Left" they should seek rigorous evidence that the actual Joe Rogan had a measurable impact on Republican support.

JUST IN 🚨: U.S. 30-Year Treasury Yield jumps above 5%

A US deficit of $2.3 trillion is about 7.5% of expected US GDP in 2026. Canada is in the range of 2% defict/GDP. Their 10 year bond is about 4.5%; ours is about 3.5%.

This is not helping my gut feeling that everyone who claims they thoroughly check their AI outputs is lying (because if they did it would negate all efficiencies). What chance the “only” time it wasn’t checked is the time all the errors are so obvious? And no one will learn anything from this.

The crisis we face in our country is not Trump, the way every claim he makes is a lie, his admissions of grift, or his destruction of the integrity of the country. No, the crisis in our country is the nodding & smiling of the people on either side of him - one of whom is the speaker of the House.

When Elon Musk bought Twitter, the Guardian asked me to write a piece on what he hoped to accomplish. I wrote that he was a fascist (like Henry Ford) who would turn Twitter into a fascist propaganda website. They killed the piece (didn’t even offer to edit it)! Anyway,

Excellente nouvelle. Et 30M$ me semble assez peu cher payé pour ce qui pourrait bien devenir un Amazon canadien. www.journaldemontreal.com/2025/05/15/c...

The free world is taking note of Congress’s inaction. Whatever damage Trump does to America’s alliances becomes exponentially harder to repair, as congressional inaction must eventually be seen as tacit approval.Half of the political class no longer supports even the most basic democratic principles

My thought of the Qatari jet is that the moment Trump is out of office, the net president ought to seize it and sell it on the grounds that based on the emoluments clause, it could never have been a gift to Trump personally and so must have been a gift to the federal government.

For everyone who was like “Google search is getting worse,” we were absolutely right.

If you encounter what seems like an implausible survey finding, ask: 1. Were survey respondents selected randomly or was this an opt-in poll? 2. Could the results, especially for young adults, be driven by bogus respondents? Keep this post in mind: www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/...

Escalate and intimidate. That is exactly the playbook. And it concerns me greatly: You know the Stephen Miller types in this administration are just itching for violence - searching, longing for something they can use as pretext for a drastic escalation so they can finally ditch all restraint.

The two pictures are 11 years apart. On 10 May 1933 the Nazi party staged ideological spectacle of burning of 'un-German’ books. 2nd image: Auschwitz II-Birkenau, burning pits outside gas chamber V, 1944. #Auschwitz warns us of where ideologies of hatred can lead to.

just so we’re all clear: the reason they keep using dolls as their example is because they’re trying to frame caring about material stuff as feminine and thus inherently shameful

Partisanship often blinds us to objective reality; even when it hurts us. But, less engaged voters typically hold weaker partisan commitments. So, they may be responding to real declines in their quality of life under Pres. Trump.

I know everything is bad, but this is really bad. If Trump undermines the prosecution of people who fix elections in his favor, then free and fair elections are gone.

Anyone paying attention knows Trump is doing lasting damage to US interests. What many overlook is that the real test is whether the US political system can bring this madness to an end. Mocking Trump is easy, but the spotlight should be on the people who allow this to last.

If I have any American followers -- you guys going to take care of business down there or what? nationalnewswatch.com/2025/05/04/t...

Holy shit, you guys. I just read Curtis Yarvin'a actual writing instead of a summary. The man is 51 years old, treated as an intellectual by the Sand Hill elite, and he writes like the most annoying freshman honors student who ever discovered Nietzsche from a comic book guide to philosophy.

"Trump’s cognitive abilities and overall competence have always left a lot to be desired, but these interviews show a president who’s no longer capable of even the veneer of mental acuity. Meanwhile, his cabinet and even congressional Republicans behave like courtiers to a mad king."

Nazi Germany surrendered in May 1945. For Americans, the Second World War would rage for three more months, until VJ Day in August. But for Russians and those influenced by them, "Victory Day" falls in May. Trump follows the Russian practice, not the American.

😲
