I don’t see it that way at all. It’s a hypothetical Death of King Arthur. It’s supposed to be a bittersweet tragedy, representing a farewell to these characters. Not even Moore framed it as a definitive ending. “This is an imaginary story. Aren’t they all?” #ngl
