It’s Christian Aid Book Sale week! I was very restrained…* #booksale #Edinburgh #Scotland *no, I really was. Yes, I do now have 3 different editions of Smiley’s People. And who could resist a title like “The Wonderful Adventures of Mrs Seacole in Different Lands.” by the woman herself?

It's the most wonderful day of the year - the Christian Aid Book Sale! Can't wait. ☺️

A Paris, la mairie du 9ᵉ arrondissement expose les dessins inspirés d’un étudiant en arts, mort après un an de harcèlement

That’s the Archivist of the United States and the Librarian of Congress both gone.

Great write up on a very effective scam that uses a second scammer to call your bank while you speak to the scammer. Don't trust unsolicited calls/texts/emails claiming to be from your bank.

Old Filth is a wonderful book 💙📚

Faculty of advocates is right. She is deputy convener of the committee responsible for civil justice and as MSP & deputy convenerhas attacked the independence of judiciary contrary to s 1 of Courts and Judiciary (scotland) act 2008 by with no foundation stating their decision was based on bigotry.

Ok, controversial food takes - Cheesecake is boring and a waste of a pudding. - Same for meringue Yes, I have tried very good versions of both. You eat my portion.

This editorial is legally spot on … better than many lawyer written pieces on linked-in “the supreme court has emphasised the balancing nature of the Equality Act, which adjudicates between the rights of different groups.” www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

Was interviewed by a Scottish newspaper about the judgment and interpretation questions. Tried to stress paras 250 on and the clarification as to meaning was not removing rights and protections, as the Supreme Court is careful to explain. Some are very keen to pretend otherwise.

“Woman” for the purposes of the Equality Act means biological female, allowing eg lesbian-only spaces, single-sex services and maternity protections. But trans women are protected from discrimination by the characteristic of “gender reassignment” and also if they are read as women.

This is good. It does seem a lot of people commenting are not aware how the law works.
