Many things are bad. I understand the urge to doomscroll right now because there's so much going on, in so many places. But sleep deprivation just makes everything harder, including taking care of yourself, the people you care about, and your community. You still deserve time to rest and recover.

“The use of for-profit staffing agencies [in #Ontario] is part of a vicious cycle that hollows out the public-sector workforce, thereby increasing hospitals’ dependence on private agencies,” said @policyalternatives.ca report author @alonghurst.bsky.social www.midnorthmonitor.com/news/local-n...

Things are so bad that Newsom is making good points.

So the English government is reducing the number of workers and telling the remaining ones to just figure it out using AI? What could possibly go wrong?

11 years ago, my son Danny died. He was one of the early victims of the toxic drug crisis, one of over 50,000. This video, showing Danny as a young chef, gives you a glimpse into what we have lost. Keep fighting for #harmreduction. It would have saved him. youtu.be/DeivXb4QDJs?...

Privatisation is selling the car and only travelling by taxi. It's selling off the kitchen and dining out every day. It's selling the house and living in a hotel.

No surprise here Alberta is not on Team Canada www.thestar.com/news/canada/...

"Decarbonized oil" sounds like a joke. Because it is. Even if you slap expensive CCS on the oil drilling/operation, one still releases massive amounts of carbon when you burn the oil in a tailpipe, chimney or smokestack. @mark-carney.bsky.social knows better. Right? www.thestar.com/politics/fed...

We already have some of the lowest taxes & amounts of public spending on health & social care amongst our peers. For so many of the people I take care of & care about, this will not help us get ahead.

We @cdnpress.bsky.social take great pride in our work; at the same time, we are asking for fair pay in light of significant inflation since our last general wage increase of 3% starting in 2020. #canlab #cdnpoli #cdnmedia

I don’t know what to say anymore. As doctors, we can’t stop a genocide and we can’t end a famine. We provided a diagnosis - genocide. We provided a prescription to end the genocide - for Canada to end its complicity and direct involvement in Israel’s crimes now.

The problem that Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney may have while working with Canada’s provincial premiers is that the more Alberta Premier Danielle Smith speaks positively about his approach, the less many Canadians will be willing to assume he’s proposing the right things.
