As always @jewishwonk.bsky.social does great analysis in this thread. Israel has a big win, at least in the short-term. They've been preparing this for a long time. But if Iran's regime and nuke program are hurt, but not devastated, Iran will reconstitute nuclear program and rush to build a bomb.

Not directly about Israel’s attack on Iran, but some background on Iranian regime, using their vice presidents as an indicator. Coming soon, a look at how Vance may have been a harbinger in U.S. and Israel decision-making on Iran. open.substack.com/pub/aaronman...

Timely, albeit late, Throwback Thursday on Iran’s vice presidents (they have a bunch). With Israel bombing Iran and targeting the Iranian leadership, these Veeps may become suddenly important. A more in-depth analysis is coming! The Veeps of Tehran open.substack.com/pub/aaronman...

I had a whole Throwback Thursday and Veeply Round-Up planned. It mentioned Vance and administration thinking on Iran. Now I need to do an emergency post all about Vance and Iran. Btw, here’s a post I wrote a while ago about the vice presidents(?) of Iran! aaronmannes.substack.com/p/the-veeps-...

Not like anything else significant might happen in the next 13 hours. You can hold off that NSC meeting till tomorrow, late morning.

Look, all this news needs to stop for like five f’in minutes. Iran, Israel, India, LA and so on and so forth—and everything has implications with everything else. Ugh.

Same, tbh. I mean, it’s kinda confusing.

Seem. I am also underwater on every single issue: laundry, work, friends, bingeworthy shows. Just totally underwater.

This!

My hot take on the Trump-Musk feud (and what it means for Vance.) Since posting, Musk suggested impeaching Trump to replace him w/ Vance (who of course has been very quiet.) Plus, a kind of optimistic Throwback Thursday. Vance and the Trump-Musk Feud open.substack.com/pub/aaronman...

The Trump and Musk affair was bound to end this way—but where does that leave Vance. Also, for Throwback Thursday, some sobering thoughts on anti-Semitism in America. Vance and the Trump-Musk Feud open.substack.com/pub/aaronman...

Same. I have also toppled, but now am upright. I am not however gorgeous.

Running a successful business with warehouses and hub distribution and HR and lawyers and salespeople and staff and happy customers... MAGA: "is this communism?"

Give 'em a little time and Fox and other Trumpistas will be going off on Hillary. It's all very Stalinist.

Feel like I really need need the bad shit—all of it—to just stop for like five fucking minutes.

Some thoughtful Sunday reading in “Down the Hall,” including a re-upped call for JD Vance to get America building, a Veeply Roundup, and a poll on this newsletter's content: please reply! Build, Baby, Build! Could VP Vance Make America Build Again? open.substack.com/pub/aaronman...

Japan is really struggling with its declining population.

This belated, but timely, Throwback Thursday is great weekend reading. Veeply Roundup covers Vance, the Philippines, and Virginia! Plus a poll and potential future content of Down the Hall. Build, Baby, Build! Could VP Vance Make America Build Again? open.substack.com/pub/aaronman...

Same, tbh. I am also magnificent.

Banger post!

General John Logan was a war hero and politician, who almost became vice president. But that pales next to his greatest achievement—establishing Memorial Day. On our national day of remembrance, we should remember him as well. open.substack.com/pub/aaronman...

They’re focused on other stories

This guy was convicted of stealing more than $10 million in taxpayer dollars, ordered to pay $4.4 million of it back as restitution, but now the taxpayers will get nothing because Trump gave him a full pardon after accepting $1 million from his mother. I need you to spread this story everywhere!

Yesterday was Memorial Day. Its origins have been clouded by history and its founder, a truly great man (who nearly became Vice President), is little remembered. Both are worthy of honor today. Memorial Day and the Almost Vice President open.substack.com/pub/aaronman...

Consider: law enforcement believes it is "free speech" to threaten someone with violence so he feels compelled to flee his home. But they don't think someone deserves to live in their home safely. That isn't their version of freedom. It's freedom only for the bully. Call it the GamerGate precedent.

Here’s a little Monday morning hopium from Down the Hall. There’s a lot more Down the Hall coming this week on Veeps around the world, so don’t fall behind! open.substack.com/pub/aaronman...
