You can both be irritated that people are only showing up now and you can say "welcome, let's get some shit done." Not mutually exclusive.

Two minutes ago this dog was stone cold asleep. Then the lasagna came out of the oven.

🧵 Breathtaking! Here's the oldest film of a solar eclipse, restored and released online. On 28 May 1900, magician, astronomer and filmmaker Nevil Maskelyne used a special adapter to film the astronomical event in North Carolina. Source: www.smithsonianmag.com/smart-news/o... 🔭 🧪 #Science

This is the future they want us all to accept soon, but they’re going to soft launch it by hurting Black communities first, and you know why. www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news...

"Science is a bind on unrestricted power. It confronts those with a certain worldview with an obstacle to the progress of their aims." Think Galileo ... think inquisition.

There are 2 previous historical cases of countries destroying their science and universities, crippling them for decades: Lysenkoism in the USSR and Nazi Germany. The Trump administration will be the 3rd. It's not just budgets but research, institutions, expertise, and training the next generation.

There’s zero evidence that prayer in schools improves grades, but one study found that kids who were fed in schools scored 17.5% higher test scores on math tests. Make it make sense GOP liars and deceivers with your evil budget. #FoodForThought

It is my understanding that a member of Congress still faces frivolous felony charges and that this has somehow gotten lost track of in the news cycle. It does still seem important. www.politico.com/news/2025/05...

Ooo, ooo, I know this one!

Main character energy is OUT, this summer we’re bringing NPC energy. We’re posted up at the bar dropping lore and suggesting side quests. We’re leaning casually near a locked door and saying “I don’t think you have the key for that” when someone tries the handle. We’re staring at a tree.

This is fantastic.

So much this. Especially in workshop settings, I've often found that critiques assume writers only know what isn't working--it's very useful to hear what is! AND it's a good skill to learn to articulate what works and your idea of why. Negatives are always easier to express.

Self-promo post: A specific thing I'm good at is editing English writing by native French speakers. I know what to look for in terms of syntax and grammar, and I will catch those faux amis and know what you meant! I also specialize in editing French-to-English translations.
